The arc fault protection device RCBO-AFDD 3M2p is a new combined protection switch, used in the field of electrical installation and appliances protection. It was developed by ETI and represents new level of electrical installation protection, protection against electrical fire.
The three-module switch is a single device designed to replace a miniature circuit breaker and a residual current circuit breaker, with additional protection against a faulty arc – which is often the cause of fire in residential buildings. The LED indication on the front of the device allows for determination of the type of fault that caused the tripping. This provides additional information on the state of electrical installation or energy consumer, which caused the problem (indicating the malfunction). The RCBO-AFDD 3M2p is primarily intended for the protection of electrical installations with increased safety requirements (public institutions such as kindergartens, hospitals, museums…) or where there is a greater risk of electrical fire (e.g. wood mills etc.).
The RCBO-AFDD 3M2p product range covers the key spectrum of rated currents from 6 to 32 A, with a rated residual current of 30 mA, type A, characteristics B and C. It is also possible to exchange the neutral and phase conductors, making the device suitable for use in IT systems, which is an important advantage in that it allows entrance to Scandinavian markets.
This optimized product solution guarantees compatibility with ETI’s entire current series of RCBOs, KZS 2M, 3M, 4M and represents the best and most complete protection solution of the series. The complexity of the device and its high added value has enabled ETI to maintain and in fact increase their market share in the field of protective switchgear.
